a tanka challenge
for Valentine’s Day: ‘write on
not being in love’ –
but I'm never not in love
(albeit there's no-one new)
Form: tanka
I'm sharing this with Poets and Storytellers United at Friday Writings #114.

Love it I'm never not in love Good on you
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI can relate to that... never not in love... it's complicated, crazy and difficult- and it should be :)
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteNo one new suggests a string of an old love sees life through. :)
ReplyDeleteI believe that love, if it's real, lasts.
DeleteDitto. Well presented.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad for you, re the 'ditto.'
DeleteBe still my heart! I LOVE tanka, even more than haiku! This is wonderful, Rosemary.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Helen. I too love tanka even more than haiku (and they are somewhat easier to write).
DeleteCheers to all who stay "in love"!
ReplyDeleteThank you, and yes indeed.
DeleteNice! 'I'm never not in love."
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it!
DeleteNever not in love....with a person? That is an interesting concept. For me that would be a Promethean torture.....Rall
ReplyDeleteGoodness, I wonder why? If the love turned out sadly, I suppose.... I've loved deeply more than once, and find that if it's real it's lasting – and by now can remember them all fondly. If there is lingering sadness in some cases, well it was worth it nevertheless!
DeleteNice Tanka, Rosemary. It would have fit if you'd have changed the last line for here. To, "albeit there's no-one knew", just add the letter "k".
ReplyDelete..
So it would! And perhaps even more romantic. But I'm being autobiographical here.
DeleteOh of course – your version would have fitted better with the theme of secrets.
Deleteplayful and fun
ReplyDelete*Smile*
DeleteI love this, Rosemary!
ReplyDeleteThat warms my heart!
