Not my favourite. I like vibrant,
tangy – sweet or sour or salt or
bitter, but with some bite, some
charge, some depth, some actual
flavour. Lemongrass is dry, weak,
barely even there. It pitter-patters
along the edges of mouth and tongue,
scarcely noticed at all. I crave a taste
that yells or sings, jumps up, waves
eager arms: ‘Here I am; savour me,
roll me all over your palate, close
your eyes in bliss, let me excite you!’
You rocked the prompt!

DeleteIs this really about food? I sense not. :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it really is! I'm just very sensual in all sorts of ways.
Deletelove how you used pitter-patter, and it reminded me of my recent experience with lemongrass
ReplyDeleteOh, that's very confirming.
DeleteI quite like lemongrass, Rosemary, especially as I have to keep away from spicy food these days, but your description is familiar. I especially love the phrase ‘pitter-patters along the edges of mouth and tongue’.
ReplyDeleteObviously a lot of people must like it better than I do. But I had fun expressing my dislike.
