How much light
will vanquish darkness?
It can never
be eradicated fully,
only lessened, brought
into some balance.
In today’s world
light’s a pinprick –
so much dark matter
crowding it out.
Yet it doesn’t
take much light
to pierce and illuminate
the deepest shadows.

I love that there is hope within that little light..may we always have a flicker of that - Jae

Thank you.
DeleteI like your attitude, Rosemary! 👍🏼
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy.
DeleteSo good to remember, Rosemary.
ReplyDeleteYes, sometimes too easy to forget.
DeleteA pertinent question, Rosemary, and I agree with this: ‘In today’s world light’s a pinprick – so much dark matter crowding it out’.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely very unbalanced!
DeleteI am reminded of the song we children sang in church so so long ago ~~ "this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine." Thank you and your poem for jogging my memory.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, sang that too. Thanks to you too, as now you have jogged mine.
Deletebless that light, and the darker it is the less light we need.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a lovely paradox?
