We who with songs beguile your pilgrimage / And swear that Beauty lives though lilies die, / We Poets of the proud old lineage / Who sing to find your hearts, we know not why ... (James Elroy Flecker)

  3. For me, these haiku are full of nostalgia, evoked by the first and continued in this lovely series, Rosemary. I especially love the hot water bottle one and the one that reminds me of growing up at my grandmother's house;, because she had a huge collection of beautiful buttons that I used to make into jewellery - and reminded me of the differences in American and British spelling!

  4. I love this! Such wonderful bouts of nostalgia run through these verses especially "late Summer fallen frangipani brown in the heat"... we have a bunch of them around the garden.

  5. I smiled reading the one about mother's soup. My mom wasn't very good at American style meals, but she made such delicious and comforting food from her own country.

  6. To see the world through a lens of humor and impressionism, to be playful--what a marvelous thing.

  9. real gems of words here Rosemary - titular prompts condensed into such acute lines - like icons. Can I pick a favourite? Not really but the soup and rainbow jello perhaps!
